I just had an idea and I’m gonna roll with it since we have a new year coming up. And what’s new about the idea? Well it all begins with repackaging old things. Sound logic.
I decided to pick out 12 previously released songs, going back as far as 2020, and rerelease them in a compilation. A “greatest hits” kind of packaging. An “un-greatest hits” if you will. I’m putting most of it on vinyl too. The record I’m drafting right now will be a combo release with most of Side A being a recently released EP called “1985A” and the rest of the record being songs from this “Un-Greatest Hits” album. The only songs left off the record version are ones from the album “Bella” due to playtime limits and because those songs are already available on “Bella” – the only other release I have on vinyl.
For the digital version of the release, I toyed with the idea of assigning a month from the upcoming year. Then as the year progresses, revisit the song, maybe give a little background on the making of the song, post the lyrics, and then grab a horoscope to see if we can find any spooky correlations. Monthly posts!

It’s already out on Bandcamp, because I’m totally burnt out on all “strategy” games that the current music industry expects artists to play with releasing things. The “right” way that “strategists” would probably say to approach something like this is to “waterfall” a single month-to-month and I’m so not on board with conventional these days, so here it is warts and all, upfront.
